Making Your Own Ice Cream

I absolutely love making ice cream. From creamy ice cream such as this strawberry ice cream or this peach ice cream to fresh sorbets and of course popsicles. It’s such a tough job having to come up with and taste all these recipes. Poor me 😉.

All jokes aside, I absolutely love making ice cream and frozen treats. Coming up with new flavor combinations and then getting ridiculously excited when a recipe turns out just right never gets old. And okay, eating all those frozen treats isn’t exactly a hardship either. I’ve always been a huge ice cream fan!

Recipe Ingredients

For making these delicious refreshing mango passion fruit popsicles you don’t need a lot of ingredients. They’re really super simple!

  • mango – it’s important that they mango is delicious ripe and sweet as that will define the flavor of the popsicles
  • passion fruit – I love adding passion fruit to the mango as it balances the flavor quite nicely
  • sugar – I used about 5 tablespoons of sugar. Keep in mind that the flavor of the ice cream will become a little less pronounced after freezing. You can add more sugar if you want.
  • heavy cream – this makes the mango passion fruit popsicles a bit creamier
  • lemon juice – to make the ice cream even fresher!

Making these mango passion fruit popsicles is as simple as mixing all the ingredients together and placing them in a popsicle mold.

The hardest part is waiting until they’re frozen!

Passion Fruit and Mango

Passion fruit and mango are simply a fantastic combination. You get the sweetness of the mango along with the tartness of the passion fruit. I also love the little passion fruit seeds because they add a bit of texture and look really pretty in the popsicles.

To make them just a little creamier, I added a splash of heavy cream. That turned out to be the perfect addition because it really brings these popsicles together. Fresh, fruity, and creamy – what more could you want?
