Recipe for leftover apples
Today, we’re going to make this classic dish: apple crumble. I had a few apples left over, and before they went off, I decided it was time to use them up. The perfect way to end your dinner or as an afternoon treat!

What type of apple is best for an apple crumble dessert?
You can make apple sauce with any leftover apples, but apple crumble is also a great way to use them up.
For this recipe, I use Granny Smith or Honey Crisp, as these varieties are the best apples to use, but it largely depends on where you live in the world too. However, you can use almost any type of apple that you like or have available. Just bear in mind that slightly tart apples often work best in apple crumble.

Variations on apple crumble
This recipe is pretty basic, but that’s exactly how I like my apple crumble. You can also bake individual portions in ramekins or similar small dishes. You can make almost eight of these from this recipe. It’s delicious served with a little vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
The easiest way to make it is to put everything in one large baking dish. After baking, divide the crumble among several plates. This recipe serves four people, but there will be plenty left over.
Of course, you can also vary the flavors:
- Add some nuts to the apples, such as walnuts or pecans, to make it extra special!
- Raisins or cranberries are also delicious.
- Alternatively, try adding a pinch of gingerbread spices or cardamom instead of cinnamon.
This delicious English dessert is highly recommended. It’s delicious, easy to make, and surprising. Just the way we like it! See more desserts and sweet treats like this lava cake.
