  • 2 apples (Preferably tart apples)
  • 130 gram flour
  • 100 gram white caster sugar
  • 75 gram butter (unsalted, cold)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (+ a pinch)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt
  • optional: serve with a little whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Oven dish

INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius / 356 Fahrenheit with the top and bottom heat.
  • Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small cubes.
  • Place the cubed apples in a bowl, then mix in the lemon juice, cinnamon and sugar. Stir well to coat the apples in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  • Now, make the dough. Cut the butter into small cubes to make it easier to mix, then place it in a large bowl.
  • Add the flour, brown sugar, a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Mix the dough well with your hands until it becomes crumbly.
  • Divide the apple cubes between four heatproof dishes or one large ovenproof dish, then sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top.
  • Place the dishes in the oven for 15–20 minutes until the top is lightly golden brown.
  • Serve with a little whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra-special treat. Bon appétit!
