Of course, we all know the classic Italian beef carpaccio, but this beef carpaccio appetizer is a nice twist to the Italian appetizer. A delicious variation that is a little more special and therefore ideal for Christmas.
Stuffed beef carpaccio bonbons
You might say to yourself, well what’s wrong with a one-dimensional carpaccio? Nothing, truly! But if you want something new, delicious and still somewhat familiair to kick-off this years Christmas dinner.. make my beef carpaccio appetizer!
It’s the combination of thin slices of raw meat with it’s creamy, fresh filling that makes this recipe so addictively delicious. I used Boursin soft cheese for the filling, combined with some other great classic flavors like shavings of Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula and pine nuts. This way, you have a taste bomb in your mouth with every bite!
Beef carpaccio appetizer recipe
Although this dish is a real treat to look at (and eat), it is incredibly easy to make! Because that’s what I love most: being able to really surprise your guests without having to spend hours in the kitchen.
This beef carpaccio recipe is a perfect example – it’s ready in just 15 minutes. Just stuff, fold and serve. You can garnish with extra Parmesan, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula and pine nuts. You can also make them ahead and store them in the fridge so they are ready to go when dinnertime comes!
Another great Italian and easy dish to serve as an appetizer is this burrata caprese salad, it’s incredibly tasty and decadent!
Ingrediënts
- 300 gram carpaccio
- 2 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes in oil (cut into small pieces)
- 2 tbsp pine nuts (+ extra – toasted )
- 150 gram soft cheese (such as Boursin herbs & garlic)
- 50 gram arugula
- Parmesan cheese (shavings, to taste)
- extra virgin olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):
- Place a portion of the carpaccio on a plate. To determine a portion divide the total amount of carpaccio by the number of people, weigh out each portion.
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the carpaccio.
- Divide the sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and crumble the cheese over the carpaccio.
- Grate the fresh Parmesan over the top and place some arugula in the middle.
- Fold the outer edge inwards to form a small ball. Fold it well to make a kind of bonbon.
- Place the bonbon on a nice plate, folded side down. Add some olive oil and garnish with extra arugula, Parmesan and/or pine nuts. Enjoy!
