Sweet and sour meatballs, simple, delicious and very easy to make. This is really one of those recipes that once you make it, you will definitely make it more often!

The best sweet and sour meatballs

Making your own sweet and sour meatballs is not difficult at all. The hardest part is rolling the meatballs, which I always find therapeutic. But did you know that there are actually tongs for making meatballs? I don’t know if it’s really that much easier, but I’m curious! If you have tried this, let me know in the comments.

Homemade meatballs

This is truly a delicious, easy AND quick recipe that I love to make. The tender meatballs in their tangy sauce are really very tasty. The sauce consists of a few ingredients such as pineapple chunks, brown sugar, pineapple juice and garlic. It is nice and sweet (not too sweet), has a nice tang and I added a spoonful of sriracha for a little heat. Don’t like spicy? Just leave it out!

With or without, the sweat and sour sauce has a perfect balance. These delicious meatballs are amazing with some white rice and veggies as an easy weeknight dinner, but also a winner as a party appetizer!

Easy recipe for sweet and sour meatballs

In this recipe, I use many Asian flavorings such as ginger syrup, soy sauce, and sesame oil in the sauce for the meatballs. Aside from the fact that I love Asian cuisine, these flavors just combine really well. Another one of my favorite Asian inspired dishes is this teriyaki salmon, just simply amazing!

Another thing I like to use in this sweet and sour sauce is chili sauce. You can make your own chili sauce, but there is nothing wrong with using store-bought. Serve the meatballs with rice and crunchy vegetables and dinner is served within half an hour!
