Why this Recipe Works
In this delicious stir fry cabbage dish you’ll find pointed cabbage, more fresh vegetables such as carrot, pointed pepper and bean sprouts, seasoned with delicious Asian flavorings and served with rice. A nutritious meal full of flavor!

Cabbage Stir Fry
For this stir fry cabbage recipe I used a pointed cabbage. Pointed cabbage is a tender type of cabbage that cooks quickly, making it ideal for the wok. This light green cabbage has a milder flavor than white cabbage and retains a crunchy texture after stir-frying. In addition, pointed cabbage is packed with nutrients such as vitamin C, fiber and folic acid. Delicious and nutritious!

Ingredients for a Stir Fry
In this recipe, pointed cabbage is definitely the star, complemented by carrot and sweet red pointed pepper. A delicious combination of flavors, but adding some color to your plate is always a good idea too, of course!
With Asian flavorings such as soy sauce, oyster sauce, a little sesame oil and a touch of chili flakes and cumin, we give this dish even more flavor. Additional add-ins I used are cashews and some fried up bacon, for texture and flavor. All and all this is a very well-balanced meal with tons of incredible ingredients.
For those who prefer less spicy food, you can reduce the chili flakes or even leave them out. Do you prefer a spicier dish? Then add a fresh red chili pepper for extra heat.

The Perfect Weeknight Meal
This stir-fried cabbage is an ideal quick meal for weekdays. Because it’s on the table in just half an hour! You can also easily vary it, for example by adding zucchini, mushrooms or leftover vegetables you still have.
This dish contains plenty of vegetables and is packed with flavor. It’s also quick to prepare, making it an ideal weekday meal. Would you rather make this dish vegetarian? Then you can easily replace the bacon bits with (smoked) tofu or tempeh, which still gives the dish a delicious (smoky) flavor.
Making Stir Fry Cabbage
What’s great about stir-frying is that it’s super quick and you don’t cook your vegetables until they’re completely done, which means the nutrients, flavor and texture are better preserved.
