Why this Recipe Works
What I love about this lemon tiramisu is that it’s really simple to make. You can easily prepare it a day in advance, it’s even more delicious once it has rested for a bit and all the flavors have had time to come together!

Tiramisu with limoncello
You’re probably familiar with the classic Italian tiramisu, it’s delicious, but in the summer I also like to go for a summery variation like this lemon tiramisu. You soak the ladyfingers in a mixture of limoncello, sugar and lemon instead of amaretto and coffee, and the mascarpone also includes lemon curd.
Some other amazing tiramisu variations are my pistachio tiramisu or this Raffaello tiramisu. Both desserts are perfect after a summer dinner or after a barbecue, of course.

Lemon Tiramisu Ingredients
It had been on my list for a while to try making a lemon-flavored tiramisu. I wanted to incorporate as many delicious lemon flavors into the tiramisu as possible without it becoming overwhelming or too tart. The combination of the lemon curd in the cream mixture and the limoncello in the ladyfingers is fa-bu-lous, and this makes the dessert perfectly balanced. What I’ve used:
- Lady fingers, a non-negotiable when it comes to tiramisu
- Limoncello, either store-bought or home-made
- Lemons, for the zest and juice
- Sugar, white sugar preferably
- Mascarpone, and whipped cream for the filling

Easy Lemon Tiramisu Recipe
Personally, I always prefer it when the lady fingers have softened a bit and everything comes together. You can make this recipe as elaborate or as simple as you like, by choosing whether or not to make the limoncello and lemon curd yourself, or by buying them (and if you do, make sure to get the really good ones). Either way, it’s a treat!
Lemon flavored Desserts
I love citrus in desserts, especially lemon. It’s refreshing, full of flavor and easy to find! Some other citrusy desserts I can recommend to you are my lemon curd cake, orange cake or lemon meringue pie. Let me know in the comments which citrus flavored dessert is your favorite.

INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):
- Place the water, sugar, limoncello, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a small saucepan and gently heat until the sugar has dissolved.
- Set aside and let cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone, lemon curd, and lemon extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with the sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- Now take the lady fingers and dip one end into the cooled limoncello mixture. Arrange half of them in a single layer on the bottom of a baking dish.
