Honey garlic chicken wings recipe
These delicious wings are seasoned with a thin layer of cornstarch and spices such as garlic powder and paprika, the cornstarch gives the crispy coating and the herbs give the flavour. Pop them in the oven and make a sweet honey and garlic sauce with red pepper flakes. Immediately after baking, coat the crispy wings in the sauce and you’re done! Easy, right?

Delicious homemade chicken wings
Of course, you can often find ready-made seasoned chicken wings in the supermarket. But they don’t taste as good as making them yourself! You can then make the spice mixture exactly as you like it, which in my case is a mix of paprika, onion powder and garlic powder.
To make these sticky honey garlic wings, you also need the sticky honey garlic sauce. That’s not included in the supermarket anyway and as far as I’m concerned it makes them absolutely define and finger lickin’ good!

Ingredients
- 1000 gram chicken wings
- 50 gram cornstarch
- 2 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 4 tsp honey
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- salt and pepper
Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Saucepan
INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius / 390 Fahrenheit top and bottom heat.
- Wash and halve the chicken wings if desired.
- Mix the cornstarch with the spices and salt and pepper to taste and brush the wings with the mixture so that they are evenly coated.
- Place the wings on a baking sheet and bake for about 40 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, make the sauce. Put all the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and mix well. Heat the sauce until liquid. This will not take long, so start just before the chicken is ready.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and immediately stir the wings into the sauce. Enjoy!
