Here’s how to make gnocchi with tomato sauce: trust me, this creamy gnocchi is absolutely delicious and super quick to make! The gnocchi cooks in just 2–3 minutes. Meanwhile, sautée crushed garlic in some good olive oil to release the flavors.

Tip: use a garlic press for this. Then add some tomato paste and fresh cherry tomatoes. Add some heavy cream and herby cream cheese, let it melt and then add the gnocchi. Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy this is easy gnocchi with creamy tomato sauce!

Ingredients

  • 500 gram gnocchi
  • 2 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 400 gram cherry tomatoes
  • 130 gram herb cream cheese (or plant-based alternative)
  • 100 ml heavy cream (or plant-based alternative)
  • fresh basil
  • Parmesan cheese (optional – or plant-based alternative)
  • olive oil, salt & pepper

Equipment

  • Large pan
  • Frying pan

INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):

  • Cook the gnocchi according to the instructions on the packet.
  • Heat a little olive oil in a pan and fry the garlic briefly to release the flavor without burning it.
  • Then add the tomato paste and fry briefly. Next, add the cherry tomatoes. Fry briefly.
  • Add the heavy cream and cream cheese and heat gently until the cheese has melted and the tomatoes are soft.
  • Add the gnocchi, stir, then season with salt and pepper before serving. It’s delicious with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese (or a plant-based alternative) sprinkled on top. Enjoy!
