Today, we’re doing something a little different. We’re making a Korean charcuterie board filled with snacks inspired by Korean cuisine. It features all kinds of delicious Korean snacks. Trust me, it’s a real treat! It’s perfect for when you have friends or family over for a meal.

Why this Recipe Works

The great thing about a Korean charcuterie board – or a “snack platter,” as it might be better described – is that you can try and taste all sorts of things. If you’re not familiar with Korean cuisine, it’s a fun way to try many new dishes. But even if you’re already familiar with Korean cuisine, this is a great way to put all your favorite dishes on the table.

As for the snacks, don’t make it too hard on yourself. You can certainly make some of the items yourself, but preparing many different appetizers from scratch and serving them hot at the same time can be quite a challenge. You can prepare dishes like gyoza or spring rolls in advance, freeze them, and then fry them up. Of course, you can also buy them ready-made with all kinds of different fillings. The same goes for dumplings.

Korean Charcuterie Board Ingredient List

Here are my tips for putting together a well-stocked platter. Of course, you can add any other dishes or appetizers from Korean cuisine that you like or think look tasty. But here’s a solid foundation to help you put together a delicious platter:

  • Gyoza: Homemade gyoza is delicious, but I really like the Bibigo brand (available at supermarkets and Asian grocery stores). For this platter, I used the chicken vegetable, beef bulgogi, and kimchi chicken flavors.
  • Speaking of kimchi, it’s definitely a must-have for this platter. Making your own kimchi is a fun project, but you can also find good kimchi at the supermarket or an Asian grocery store. If you want something a little less spicy, you can try my Asian cucumber salad as a refreshing side dish.
  • Teokbokki are rice cakes in a spicy sauce. You can find them in various flavors, including gochujang sauce or red chili and garlic sauce, from the O’Food brand at the supermarket or Asian grocery store.
  • Steamed dumplings, whether homemade or Bibigo’s green chili variety, are also very tasty.
  • Vegetable pancakes, the ones you see on appetizer platters are from Saongwon. You can bake them in an air fryer until they’re crispy. I made a simple dip for them with soy sauce, vinegar, sesame seeds, and chili flakes.
  • Kimbap is, of course, a must-have. I used the Baba brand for this.
  • Bulgogi is so delicious! You can make the marinade yourself or find it from the Bibigo brand.
  • Finish off the Korean appetizer platter with small, single-serving portions of noodles or a cup of noodle soup. Nongshim brand Korean noodles are spicy and tasty.

Finishing Touches

To keep your snack platter entirely Korean, add some Korean drinks. Consider Chun Churum, for example, which comes in various flavors. It’s a distilled rice spirit. Another option is Korean beer. Cass is a popular brand. Or, go non-alcoholic with Milkis, a milk-based soft drink that comes in various flavors. They’re delicious and refreshing.
