This is another prime example of an easy yet delicious recipe. After assembling the pasta, sauce and topping you bake this canned tuna pasta in the oven until it has a nice crispy layer on top, and it’s ready to eat! The preparation itself is also so quick, you can pop this simple pasta recipe in the oven in about 15 minutes.

Easy tuna pasta recipe
This canned tuna pasta recipe consists of just a handful of ingredients; al dente penne pasta, a simple tomato sauce, black olives, canned tuna and some Italian herbs and spices. What gives this pasta with tuna just that little bit extra is that it has a lovely crispy topping.
Once the pasta is cooked, we put it in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle some panko bread crumbs and a few extra Italian herbs on top. You can also add some grated Parmesan cheese if you like. You don’t have to spend a long time in the kitchen to make this tuna pasta dish, so it’s perfect for busy weekdays. Let’s get cooking!


Ingredients
- 300 gram pasta
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 70 gram tomato puree
- 400 gram diced tomatoes
- 1½ tbsp Italian herbs (dried)
- 140 gram canned tuna
- 150 gram black olives
- 50 gram panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- Parmesan cheese (grated)
- oil, salt and pepper
Equipment
- Large frying pan
- Ovenproof dish
INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius / 355 Fahrenheit top and bottom heat.
- Cook the pasta al dente according to the instructions on the packet and drain.
- Heat a little olive oil in a large frying pan and sauté the onion and garlic briefly.
- Brown the tomato puree and add the diced tomatoes.
- Season with Italian herbs, salt and pepper. Add the cooked pasta.
- Place half of the pasta in an ovenproof dish, spread half of the tuna and black olives on top and repeat with the other half.
- Spread the panko over the top and sprinkle with some extra Italian herbs and possibly some grated Parmesan.
- Bake in the oven for about 25-35 minutes until it is nice and warm and the crust is crispy and lightly golden brown.
- Sprinkle with some fresh chopped parsley and enjoy your meal!
