Why This Recipe Works
Easy does it with this recipe! A flavorful marinade and an oven, that’s all it takes. Ideal for busy weeknights and perfect to serve with some seasonal vegetables and crispy baked potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients
These delicious baked chicken drumsticks owe their reputation to the amazing marinade. It’s relatively simple, but oh so tasty! The marinade includes soy sauce, honey, sweet soy sauce, garlic, and spices. You can make it in no time, I will share the ingredients with you!
- Spices – I used a my favorite spices, a combination of ginger powder, paprika powder and Cajun spices. Super flavorful!
- Liquids – As mentioned I added even more depth and flavor by using soy sauce, honey and sweet soy sauce.

Marinated Chicken Drumsticks
To achieve the ultimate flavor let the chicken marinate for at least half an hour, preferably longer. This recipe is a worthy addition to my extensive list of chicken recipes and is highly recommended! I love recipes like this because while the chicken is in the oven, you can prepare the rest of the meal.
Serving drumsticks
Serve the drumsticks as a side dish with potatoes and green beans, or make a tasty salad to go with them for a lighter meal. You can also serve the drumsticks as a snack; they call them “TV sticks,” which is quite cute.
I think the idea behind this is that you can eat them by hand while watching TV? Either way, these chicken drumsticks are always delicious, whether you serve them as an evening meal or as a snack.

How to Cook Chicken Drumsticks in the Oven
Cooking chicken in the oven is easy. After marinating, bake the chicken drumsticks in the oven for half an hour, until they are perfectly cooked and golden brown. This recipe is super easy to prepare!
If you’ve ever made roasted or oven-baked chicken you know the drill, but there are still some tricks you might not have up your sleeve yet 😉 .
Below are a few tips:
- Preheat the oven well to ensure your drumsticks cook evenly.
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the drumsticks from sticking.
- Marinate the drumsticks for at least half an hour so the flavors can soak in. If you have time, marinate them for a few hours. For example, put them in the refrigerator with the marinade in the morning, then bake them before dinner. They’ll be bursting with flavor!
- Use a kitchen thermometer to accurately measure the core temperature of the meat so you know exactly when they are cooked through. Because measuring equals knowing! This will prevent undercooked chicken (which no one wants) or the meat from becoming too dry. Who doesn’t love perfectly tender chicken drumsticks?

The Perfect Drumstick Seasoning
You can season chicken with just about anything—it’s just a matter of what you like. I made these drumsticks really tasty with a spicy marinade. The longer you marinate the chicken, the deeper the flavor will be. For this marinade, I used ginger powder, paprika, and Cajun spices. It’s an amazing combination that you really have to try!
