Marry me chicken, a.k.a. Tuscan chicken. This delicious, creamy dish contains chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and Parmesan cheese. It’s a truly delicious dish that is also easy to make!

Tuscan chicken recipe

You might think it’s from Tuscany, but actually this isn’t a traditional Tuscan recipe, but an American dish. It’s a well-known dish from the popular Olive Garden chain, which serves Italian-American cuisine.

Nevertheless, this Tuscan marry me chicken will definitely make you feel like you’re under the Tuscan sun — and that’s the whole point! I often find American-Italian dishes very tasty. For example, I’m a huge fan of my chicken Parmesan recipe!

Tuscan marry me chicken recipe

I think this Tuscan chicken dish is the perfect example of comfort food. It’s really easy to make and doesn’t require many ingredients, and it’s absolutely delicious. It’s similar to my creamy oven-baked chicken recipe, but definitely different.

Here, I’ve chosen to serve the chicken with orzo, but you could also use another type of pasta or a low-carb alternative such as cauliflower rice or courgetti. Both are tasty accompaniments, and the dish is low in carbohydrates anyway. You can also opt to serve some extra vegetables on the side, such as cooked broccoli, as I did.

Flavours from Tuscany

Although it is not an ‘official’ Tuscan dish, it contains flavours that are typical of Tuscan cuisine. These include chicken, a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese. Fresh spinach and pasta are also ingredients synonymous with the flavours of the Tuscan region.

I opted for chicken breasts, but chicken thighs would work well too. This can sometimes give the dish an even stronger flavour! It’s an extremely comforting meal and a true family favorite in our house hold.
