Pastry brush
INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius / 390 Fahrenheit with top and bottom heat and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Heat some oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the onion, bell pepper, and leek for about 5 minutes. Add the basil, onion powder, and garlic powder. Fry the vegetables until they are soft.
Let the vegetables cool for 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix the ground chicken with the smoked paprika, chicken seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Add the vegetables to the chicken mixture and stir until combined.
Roll out a sheet of puff pastry and cut it in half horizontally. Spread a quarter of the chicken mixture evenly across each piece of dough.
Roll up the puff pastry with the filling inside and cut it into 7–8 equal pieces. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry.
Place the bites on a baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg. Sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds.
Bake the bites in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
In the meantime, optionally prepare the sauce. Simply mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
Serve the bites warm with the dipping sauce and enjoy!
