Ingredients

4 people
For the plum filling
  • 500 gram plums
  • 1-2 tbsp light brown sugar*
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (or custard powder)
For the crumble topping
  • 175 gram all-purpose flour
  • 100 gram light brown sugar
  • 75 gram unsalted butter (cold and cut into small cubes)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • *adjust the level of sugar depending on the sweetness of your plums

INSTRUCTIONS (how to make this recipe):

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) using conventional heat.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the crumble topping and rub them together until you have - you guessed it 😉 - a crumbly mixture.
  • Cut the plums into pieces and toss them with the cornstarch and sugar. If your plums aren’t particularly sweet, you can add a little extra sugar to taste.
  • Spread the plums evenly in a baking dish and scatter the crumble mixture over the top.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the crumble topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or Greek yogurt. Enjoy!
